Dear Supporter,

Increase your impact when you support free legal information for survivors today.

Today ONLY, GlobalGiving is holding their 2020 July Bonus Day, a one-day campaign that provides matching donations for GlobalGiving Projects and the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) has the opportunity to receive extra support for our WomensLaw project. This is a great opportunity to support a critical resource and make your donation go further.

WomensLaw is the first and only free, legal resource of its kind for survivors of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking who are seeking legal information and resources in both English and Spanish. WomensLaw.org is visited by more than 1.9 million individuals annually. We also operate the first-ever national Email Hotline for survivors and their friends, family, and advocates in English and Spanish. More than 5,000 people receive individualized, free legal information, support, and referrals through the Email Hotline each year. Unfortunately, due to high demand and limited staffing, we are forced to frequently close the Email Hotline in order to keep up with demand. By participating in July Bonus Day, you can help WomensLaw get much needed funding to keep the Email Hotline open longer and make WomensLaw.org accessible to more people.

Through WomensLaw, we can help survivors gain the knowledge they need to navigate complicated legal processes during the pandemic. WomensLaw is uniquely situated to help victims who might be forced to stay at home with an abusive partner during COVID-19. While not all survivors may not be able to make a phone call without their partner overhearing, they might be able to research legal options and email WomensLaw from their laptop or phone.

Even before COVID-19, our annual Domestic Violence Counts Report showed that legal assistance is often out of reach for survivors – with only 52 percent of domestic violence programs providing legal assistance. WomensLaw fills a critical resource gap for those who are in need of legal information, but cannot afford representation.

In the spirit of this matching campaign, we’re making big, bold asks of our supporters – and that’s you. Can we count on you to support WomensLaw with a one-time gift of $100 or more today?

WomensLaw strives to provide clarity in times of crisis so that a person can determine what steps they can take to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. Please consider participating in July Bonus Day today by making a gift to WomensLaw.

Your gift will support our efforts to empower survivors and their advocates to make informed decisions about their options, safety, and legal remedies.
You can also share our GlobalGiving project on Facebook and share helpful WomensLaw resources, like this one about how to help a loved one who is being abused.

Thank you for all that you do to support survivors.

   For safety and peace,

   Deborah J. Vagins
   NNEDV President and CEO
