Dear Supporter,

Please join us in urging the Senate to quickly pass the next COVID-19 stimulus package. Survivors cannot wait.

As this global pandemic continues month after month, survivors’ lives are still in peril. Faced with danger at home, the threat of COVID-19, and, for many, job loss and looming evictions, survivors are in urgent need of support. In these dire circumstances, survivors do not have time to wait.

In May, the U.S. House of Representative passed H.R.6800 - the Health and Economic Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act. The bill includes needed investments in shelter and victim services.

While this was a step in the right direction to address the immediate needs of domestic and sexual violence survivors during the public health and economic crisis, serious gaps still remain and the U.S. Senate has failed to act. Despite the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Survivors of Color, caused by systemic racism, no federal relief package has increased resources for culturally specific programs serving survivors who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Additionally, survivors need increased access to sexual assault services, shelter and housing.

Act now to ensure that the Senate addresses the needs of survivors and direct service providers!

Join the National Network to End Domestic Violence and the National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence TODAY for a Day of Action. Email and tweet your Senators urging them to strengthen and pass the next COVID-19 stimulus package.

The Senate must act now. Survivors’ lives are on the line. Contact your Senators today to invest in immediate solutions for survivors in crisis.

Thank you for supporting survivors and helping keep families safe and healthy during this uncertain time.

For safety and peace,

Deborah J. Vagins
