Dear Supporter,

Your advocacy is working! On Wednesday, March 17, the U.S. House of Representatives passed two signature pieces of legislation to advance safety and justice for survivors.

The VOCA Fix to Sustain the Crime Victims Fund Act of 2021 (VOCA Fix) (H.R. 1652) passed by a vote of 384 – 38 with broad bipartisan support. In case you missed it, read our statement about the VOCA Fix to learn why this bill is so important for survivors and domestic violence programs.

The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2021 (VAWA) (H.R. 1620) passed by a vote of 244 - 172. Read our press release on the passage of VAWA 2021 and learn how the bill will help improve responses to survivors.

Now these bills must be taken up by the Senate. We will be calling upon you soon to contact your Senators and urge the swift passage of both bills.

Thank you for all of your advocacy in support of survivors.

For safety and peace,

Deborah J. Vagins
