| | A Message from NNEDV's Interim President & CEO |
| Dear Supporter, Happy 2026! Already this year, the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) is celebrating several legislative victories for survivors. The House of Representatives passed the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act, and Congress passed part of the fiscal year 2026 “minibus,” which includes increased funding for lifesaving victim services. These victories would not be possible without our membership of the 56 state and territorial coalitions against domestic violence, or without supporters like you. Thank you so much for joining us in this tough, but important, work. Despite some good news, we continue to see troubling headlines across our country. We mourn with Minnesota following federal agents’ fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good. Please see here for a statement from our member coalition, Violence Free Minnesota, here for a statement from our Minnesota-based partners at Esperanza United, and here for a joint statement from national resource centers, including NNEDV. While this new year will undoubtedly continue to bring challenges and loss, we know that a brighter future is possible. Keep reading to see what’s new at NNEDV this month as we work to create a better, safer world. In peace and safety, Tonia Moultry-Pace Interim President & CEO |

| | January is National Stalking Awareness Month. Stalking is a scary, dangerous, violation of privacy impacting millions of people each year. Abusers often choose to stalk partners as a means to harm them, even after the relationship itself may have ended. Find stalking safety-planning guidance from our WomensLaw team if you’re concerned about yourself or someone you know. |

| | Throughout 2025, the focus of NNEDV's Safety Net team remained steady: helping survivors, advocates, policymakers, and industry professionals respond to technological change in ways that center survivor safety, privacy, autonomy, and dignity. Check out our team's full Year in Review. |

| | Great news! The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) denied SpyFone's petition to vacate its 2021 consent order banning the company's CEO from the surveillance business. This move represents a significant victory for survivor safety and privacy and for critical consumer protections, and the FTC cited NNEDV’s Safety Net team throughout the decision. | | | “According to a survey by the National Network to End Domestic Violence, 97% of victim service programs reported that their clients experience some level of technology-facilitated abuse in their gender-based violence cases. Common forms include monitoring phone calls and internet activity, tracking location through apps or hidden devices like AirTags, remotely controlling smart home systems and impersonating survivors with fake accounts, among others.” (Peninsula Press) |

 | “Since 2017, we’ve partnered with more than 25 organizations worldwide [including NNEDV] and have committed $15 million through Driving Change to support NGOs working to prevent violence against women — on our platform and beyond.
