Dear Supporter,

Survivors and advocates across the country still need your advocacy. Please join the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) and our partners for a Day of Action TODAY to tell Congress to take immediate action to help survivors during the COVID-19 crisis.

Call and tweet your Members of Congress and ask them to pass a COVID-19 relief package that includes funding and policies specifically addressing the needs of survivors.

Since March, we have called upon you to tell Congress about the devastating impact and unique needs survivors have as a result of COVID-19. The pandemic has exacerbated already existing housing, childcare, and financial barriers to survivor safety. Congress must take swift action - survivors are at a heightened risk and urgently need resources to be safe.

Congress needs to know that the health and security of survivors cannot wait any longer. Call and tweet your Members of Congress today.

While past COVID-19 relief bills have provided some funding to domestic violence programs, COVID-19 has caused a devastating increase in incidents of domestic violence and demand for services has skyrocketed across the country. Survivors and advocates need a relief package that includes funding for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including organizations serving survivors in Communities of Color who are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. This package must also include increased deposits into the Crime Victims Fund, as well as critical funding for emergency shelter services and sexual assault programs. Additionally, the next relief package should protect immigrant survivors and include economic supports and better policies for unemployed, underemployed, and low-income families.

We need your help to make sure Congress passes a COVID-19 relief package that includes critical funding and support for survivors. Call and tweet your Members of Congress.

The urgent housing, economic, health, safety, and other human needs of survivors can no longer wait. Call your Members of Congress, then join us for a Twitter storm at 1:00 pm Eastern Time/10:00 am Pacific Time using the hashtag #CovidRelief.

Thank you for being a voice against violence and making a commitment to create lasting change.

For safety and peace,

Deborah J. Vagins
NNEDV President and CEO
